Position Title: Resident Services Coordinator Practicum
Schedule: Practicum/Internship for Course Credit, Approx. 14-18 HRS Per Week (flexible based on student’s credit requirements) Date Position Available: Late Summer +/or Fall/Winter Semester ’22, with possible option to continue into Spring Semester ‘23
Education: BSW w/ MSW Matriculation or BA/MA/BS w/ MSW Matriculation
Preferred Aptitude: Demonstrated interest in supportive services; demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and follow through in service provision. Commitment to upholding high standards for housing projects and programming. Main Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Promote a positive social climate that fosters residents’ psychosocial well-being by assisting with development and implementation of educational, recreational, and therapeutic programs for resident participation. 2. Utilize interpersonal skills while engaging with residents; use rapport with residents to encourage engagement with therapeutic and other programs. 3. Serve as liaison between residents and TSA/Housing staff, documenting and organizing contact with residents and relaying highlights at relevant meetings. 4. Create and administer materials (flyers, handouts, etc.) for residents covering topics such as computer literacy, community resources, mental health action items, etc. 5. Identify leaders among the residents to volunteer / offer opportunities related to news stories, donor seminars, and various Communications. 6. Plan and coordinate (1+) recreational or training event for residents throughout semester. Plan in conjunction with Service Administrator overseeing Veterans Residents. 7. Visit housing sites and document / relay cleaning and other property needs to task manager; maintain strict standards for cleanliness, maintenance, and client-prioritization in housing sites. 8. Assist with and lead community outreach efforts to recruit residents for housing sites.
Qualifications: * Bachelor or Masters Student from an accredited school of Social Work or in related human services field. * Interest in low-income housing and/or case management and residential service coordination. * Team player, self-motivated, able to multi-task and perform well under time restrictions. * Understanding of LIHTC, Section 42, and Section 202 housing regulations helpful. * Proficiency in MS Office applications a plus. * Pass background check.
