Food Pantry - Panera Food Pick Up Tuesdays

Volunteer needed for an easy food rescue opportunity.

Panera bread graciously offers us donations of unsold baked goods once per week, on Tuesdays.
We need a dependable volunteer to help pick up the bread which will be distributed to families who are in need of food from our Social Services Office at 503 Lake Street.  At less than an hour of committed time per week, this is an easy way to help many families in need!

You would arrive at the Howell Panera location between 8:45 and 8:55 pm, indicate that you were there to pick up the Salvation Army’s Panera donation, and wait while store staff prepares it.  When the donation was ready, typically no later than 9:30 pm, you would have 1-3 good sized containers to collect.   The donation can then be dropped off any time the next business day, between 9 am and 4:30 pm at the Salvation Army Corps Office at 503 Lake Street.

We would love to have someone commit to picking up this donation every Tuesday evening, but if you are only able to do it once or twice a month that would still relieve the current pick-up person.
