Fundraising Events - Special Events Volunteer
The Salvation Army of Livingston County seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist with our fundraising/awareness efforts. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual interested in supporting a non-profit through fundraising and event planning.
Responsibilities:
- Seek sponsors, assist with creating and distribution of promotional materials, sell tickets, manage event volunteers and assist with logistics of event.
- Assist with guest registration and related data.
- Assist with vendor negotiations, maintain budget for events
- Manage and implement a plan for securing silent auction or basket raffle donations.
- Assist with promotion through print media releases, website and social media promotion.
- Assist with donor acknowledgement and guest follow-up.
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of committee meetings including proposed agenda and taking minutes.
Qualifications:
- Firm grasp of available social media tools and platforms beneficial but not required
- Must be computer literate with a knowledge of basic office platforms, including Internet research experience
- Professional demeanor and outstanding phone etiquette
- Ability to communicate professionally with the public and community contacts
- Organized, motivated, detail-oriented and able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Enthusiasm for the mission of The Salvation Army of Livingston County and the families we support in Livingston County.
Start Date: Position open until filled, 6-9 month commitment Ideal candidate is interested in a long-term, year-round committment
Hours: 8-12 hours/week, preferably in the office 1-2 times per week.
Some work can be completed from home/shared electronically.
Compensation: This is an Unpaid Volunteer Experience
Supervision: Special Events Volunteer will report directly to the Development Director
