Administrative - Volunteer Support Person

The Salvation Army of Livingston County is looking for a friendly, energetic person to assist long-term with volunteer management. You will support the Volunteer Coordinator with various aspects of our volunteer programs, from calling prospective volunteers to share current opportunities, assisting with training, assisting with data entry and organization, to helping to thank and recognize our volunteer force.

Primary responsibilities include making volunteers feel welcome, and assisting with preparing them for service.  You will provide information about current and future volunteer programs, answer questions, schedule appointments, verify and update data,answer and direct phone calls, take and direct messages, perform basic filing and clerical duties and keep the volunteer office looking nice.  We are hoping to find a candidate comfortable with multi-line phones, basic computer literacy, and a willingness to learn.



We are seeking volunteers who are interested in a commitment of 1 half day per week over a minimum 6-month time frame.  We are open to your availability.    Preferred shifts to choose from are 9-12 and 1-4, but we could be flexible for the right candidate.


Discretion is critical as you will handle personal data.  You may also come into occasional contact with crisis clients.   Interested candidates will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and submit to a background check.  Interested candidates must be 18 years or older.
