Administrative - Skilled Receptionist Needed Fridays
The Salvation Army of Livingston County is looking for a friendly, energetic person to volunteer long-term in our reception area. You will be the first contact for people who are looking for information and help during a time of need, so a caring heart and a warm smile are a must. This is a rewarding opportunity for those who seek to make a real difference in their community.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include greeting visitors, identifying the reason for their visit to our offices. You will provide information about services offered, start the assistance application process with clients who have appointments, and gather necessary qualifying documents from clients. You will set appointments, answer and direct phone calls, take and direct messages, perform basic filing and clerical duties and keep the reception area looking nice. We are hoping to find a candidate comfortable with multi-line phones, basic computer literacy, and a willingness to learn.
Commitment
We are seeking volunteers who are interested in a commitment of 1 days per week over a minimum 6-month time frame. We currently need assistance on Fridays. If you cannot work every Friday, 2-3 per month would be perfect.
Requirements
Due to the sensitive nature of our work with those in crisis, discretion is critical. Interested candidates will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and submit to a background check. Interested candidates must be 18 years or older.
Location
This opportunity is at The Salvation Army Corps Community Center, 503 Lake Street in Howell, MI.
