📣 Volunteer Opportunity: Join the Teen Advisory Board!

Help the Grand Prairie Library plan and prepare teen programs and marketing projects! Join the Teen Advisory Board in organizing fun teen events and creating social media or promotional content just for teens! This is a wonderful way for high school students to earn volunteer hours or recommendation letters while participating in creative and engaging library activities!

✨ All approved volunteers are required to attend a mandatory orientation on August 19. Additional volunteer hours may become available during the semester for events like Tween Time, Teen Time, Dino Fest 🦕, Día del Niño 🎈, Summer Reading Club ☀️, and more!

✅ Qualifications Required:

• Must be a high school student, age 14 to 17

• Must pass a virtual or in-person interview

• Must be able to attend at least 3 out of 4 monthly meetings.
  ➤ A letter of recommendation can be earned by attending the required meetings and completing 10+ volunteer hours.

📍 Tuesdays | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Main Library

Teen Advisory Board Meetings:

• ⭐ Tuesdays (Second Week of the month): 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Main Library
• 📅 Dates: Aug 19, Sep 9, Oct 7, Nov 11

🛠 Possible Tasks:

• 🎭 Planning & facilitating future library programs

• ✂️ Prepping materials for upcoming events

• 📸 Creating social media content (short videos, posts)

• 📚 Making book lists, read-a-likes, displays, or recommendations for teens

• 🙋 Participating in teen programs as extra staff support

• 🌎 Helping with additional community events like Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful & The Big Event
