Foundry - Foundry Volunteer-Group Attendee

PROGRAM NAME: Foundry Abbotsford
POSITION TITLE: Program Support – Group Attendee
SCHEDULE: On Call/Casual; Healthy by Nature Events
LOCATION: 101-32555 Simon Ave, Abbotsford
REPORTS TO: Rachel Andor
 
POSITION SUMMARY
The Group Attendee will join Foundry group outings, such as Healthy by Nature trips, which are a partnership with BC Parks. The volunteer will be a responsible role model for youth participants, engaging in conversation and activities with the group and youth. Events can be 2 hours to 8 hours, depending on the day. This position is of casual/on-call nature as each activity occurs on a different date(s) of the month. Foundry services young people 12-24, and provides a safe and judgment-free environment where they can feel comfortable asking for and accessing services they need. The Centre provides intergrade wellness services, such as physical and mental-health care, substance-use support, social services and youth and family peer support.
 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Arrive on time and stay/participate for duration of activity 
  • Engage in conversations and activity with youth and staff
  • Be punctual and dependable
  • Provide the Coordinator with as much notice when missing a shift
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Immediately report incidences, accidents or concerns to the Foundry Volunteer Coordinator
