Archway Community Services is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to take on the part of Income Tax Screeners who can join our team. If you enjoy working in a social setting, helping people, organizing and managing intake tasks please apply.
Income Tax Screeners Activities & Tasks

Greeting clients and ensuring they have the appropriate tax information for the tax preparer

Scheduling appointments for income tax clients

Retrieving phone messages from potential clients

Determining eligibility of clients

Assisting other tax volunteers in screening clients (this does not include filling out tax forms)

Maintaining client confidentiality and information encountered in the process of completing duties

Following operating policies and procedures for the taxation service

Reporting questions or concerns to the Income Tax Service Supervisor/Lead Volunteer

Skills and Qualifications
-
Basic working knowledge of & familiarity with Canadian taxation documents

Bilingual speaking ability is an asset (Punjabi & English)

Effective communication and positive interpersonal skills an asset

Able to commit a flexibility of time during the 2 months for this year’s tax service
Mandatory Training and Orientation
-
Orientation to Archway's tax program, policies and procedures
-
Able to commit to at least one shift per week, morning or afternoon, and available for the 2 months is appreciated.

Hours of Operation for the Tax program is – Monday to Friday 9:00a.m. To 3:30 p.m.
