This volunteer opportunity will help to Assist the team to ensure every day is an opportunity for the people in our care to live their best life while participating in various social and recreational activities; both in-centre and out and about in the community.
This role would be best suited to people who have a genuine passion to make a positive difference to people whose lives are affected by age-related frailty, dementia and/or disability.

Coomera Community Care Centre provides daily in-centre activities and outings for older people, some living with dementia and/or disability.
The Centre has different spaces for a range of activities including a relaxing outdoor area, a spacious recreational and dining room and a fully equipped commercial kitchen.
Tasks involved include:
assist the team with the preparation of resources for daily in-centre or community outings
assist the team to plan, prepare and serve light meals to participants
gently encourage and prompt participants to take an active part in lifestyle and creative activities and engage in positive interactions with others.
assist with maintaining a tidy working environment eg: end of day procedures for kitchen and packing away activity resources
Accompany the team and participants on community outings

Time Commitment: Minimum time commitment of 3-4 hours Weekly
No previous experience or qualifications are required, we are seeking:
People who are passionate about supporting people whose lives are affected by age related frailty, dementia and disability
People who have patience, empathy and a genuine desire to make a positive contribution as a volunteer
People who are eager to experience new things or share existing hobbies and interests with others
All rounders who are willing to support the team across a variety of tasks
▪ COVID-19 Vaccination, ▪ Flu Vaccination, ▪ Disability Worker Screening check, ▪ Australian Federal Police check, all screening checks are free to volunteers. Blue Care will assist the volunteer to apply for checks
This role is accessible for people using:
