  📃 This volunteer opportunity will help to assist the Diversional Therapy Team to ensure every day is an opportunity for the people in our care to life their best life.

👉🏼 About Us: Woodlands Lodge is home to people who are frail aged and elderly, some experiencing dementia. It has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, including its own café located in a rotunda surrounded by lush gardens. The Diversional Therapy Team provide fun, recreational activities both at home and out and about in the community, tailored to meet the needs of the residents.

Volunteers are needed on Tuesday mornings as shopping companions for Residents who need assistance while on their weekly shopping excursion. Volunteers assist by ensuring passengers on the minibus remain safely buckled while seated and are enjoying a comfortable, pleasant journey. Please note that Volunteers may be required to push Residents who are in wheelchairs. Wheelchair training will be provided.

 

📍Location: BlueCare, Woodlands Lodge Residential Aged Care Facility, 29 Melbourne Road, Arundel, 4214

✅ What you’ll be doing: 

 

▪️ Assist residents entering and departing on the minibus and ensuring their safety
▪️ Assist residents while shopping

💍 Commitment: 3-4 hours fortnightly

 

🕑 Times: 8.30 am to 11.30 am

 

☑️ Requirements of this role include: 

 ▪️ No previous experience in Aged Care or related fields is required

 ▪️ An initial interview following application will be conducted by the Volunteer Coordinator, followed by a meet and greet on site with the Diversional Therapy Team. 

▪️ A police check is essential prior to commencement.   The Volunteer Coordinator will assist applicants with this check which is free to volunteers. 

▪️ Uniting Care Orientation Training is mandatory prior to commencement and will be delivered by the Volunteer Coordinator either online or face-to-face.
