📃 This volunteer opportunity will help to This volunteer role will help to support the preparation and packing of orders for Lifeline’s "Threads by Goody Bag" range, an upcycled fashion line that celebrates individuality, reduces textile waste, and raises funds for crisis support services.

As a Kit/Order Packing Assistant for Threads by Goody Bag, you’ll play a key role in supporting our broader volunteer network by preparing creative kits for remote upcycling and sewing tasks. These kits are sent out to at-home volunteers who contribute to the production of one-of-a-kind fashion pieces made from donated and unsellable materials. You'll also assist with preparing finished items for store replenishment — including tagging, performing quality checks, and packing orders for delivery. In this way, you will help ensure a process for producing and delivering sustainable fashion pieces - directly supporting Lifeline’s crisis support services while reducing textile waste.

Based at the Lifeline Warehouse in Geebung, you’ll work in a dedicated workspace for sorting, assembling, and packing kits/orders. The role involves hands-on tasks such as cutting, measuring, sorting materials, and packaging components, requiring attention to detail and organisation. You will have guidance and support from the Threads project leader and other team members. Most volunteers complete 1 shift per week, 3-5 hours long. The warehouse welcomes volunteers from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The Threads team is small, collaborative, and welcoming. Volunteers work independently or in pairs on tasks, but there's a strong sense of shared purpose and teamwork. Everyone’s contribution is valued equally — whether you're sewing or helping prepare materials.
