📃 This volunteer opportunity will help to uncover and preserve the stories of Moorlands House, creating life-changing connections between the community and its heritage. 

Help uncover and preserve the life-changing stories behind Moorlands House. Your research will deepen our understanding of this iconic building, helping the community appreciate its heritage and its significance to The Wesley Hospital. 

📍Location:  In communication with the Corporate Services Fundraising and Philanthropy Team, volunteer remote from your home/office and/or at the State Library of Queensland, South Brisbane. 

This opportunity is perfect for someone who loves history, enjoys detailed research and wants to help bring the past to life. You’ll explore the origins, people and stories connected to Moorlands House and collate your findings to support tours, restoration work and community education. 

✅ What you’ll be doing: 

▪️ Conducting detailed historical research 

▪️ Potentially interviewing people connected to Moorlands House 

▪️ Referencing and verifying information 

▪️ Collecting and organising documents, maps, photos and archival records 

Your research may include: 

▪️ When Moorlands House was built, by whom, and for what purpose 

▪️ The history of its inhabitants and owners 

▪️ How the house has been used over the decades 

▪️ Architectural plans, maps and design features 

▪️ Photographs and community stories 

▪️ Insights into the house’s role within its neighbourhood
