📃 This volunteer opportunity will help to enhance the wellbeing of the people we serve by providing valuable companionship, engaging them in one-on-one conversations and assisting with activities, reducing feelings of loneliness. 

📍Location: BlueCare, Mt Gravatt Respite Care Centre, 1541 Logan Road, Mt Gravatt Qld 4122

As a volunteer in a BlueCare Respite Care Centre you will be assisting the the Respite Care Team to ensure that all visitors & clients feel welcomed while enjoying a memorable, positive experience. Clients to the centre stay for the day to provide their care giver/family members some much needed respite.

👉🏼 About The Role: While under our care clients are supported in a safe and friendly environment. Daily group activities are planned well in advance and can take place in-centre or out and about in the local community. Volunteers will receive a calendar listing the details of each months activities. Volunteers supporting out of centre activities would need to be available for a full day 8am to 4pm as BlueCare buses leave the centre at 8am and may not return until after 3pm. This day trip will usually include stopping at a café for lunch.

Volunteers are welcome to bring their lunch with them or purchase it from the venue. In-centre activities can include board games, puzzles, sing-a-longs, craft, movies, bingo, mini golf, mini bowling, etc. Volunteers supporting in-centre activities can be on site for less hours, but this may depend on the type of activity and the needs of the clients. Volunteers will need to wear enclosed shoes and comfortable but neat and tidy, weather appropriate clothing. Morning Tea and Afternoon Tea are provided.
