📃 This volunteer role will help to bring friendship to residents, brightening their day through shared moments, conversation and laughter

We are looking for kind-hearted, friendly people who love conversation and the simple joys of life. Your visit might be the highlight of someone's week, whether its chatting over a cuppa, playing a board game or a crossword reading the newspaper or a short stroll around the gardens. Your friendly conversation, listening ear and gentle presence can brighten someone's day in the most meaningful way.

📍Location: BlueCare | Woodlands Lodge Residential Aged Care Facility, 29 Melbourne Road, Arundel Qld 4214

👉🏼 About Us: Woodlands Lodge is much more than an aged care facility, for over 100 frail aged and elderly people its their home. It may not be shiny and new like some other aged care facilities but it offers a place where friendship, comfort and care come together. At Woodlands Lodge we believe the little things in life, like making new friends , remain a personal and special experience. Because good company never gets old!

✅ What you’ll be doing: 

- Spend time with residents by sharing conversations

- Playing board games, puzzles, cross words, reading together

- Going for a short scroll around the gardens or sitting in the sunshine

✅ Skills neeeded:

- No special skills are needed, just a caring nature and a genuine smile Its not about doing much, just being there, making friends and spreading joy  

🎁 What’s in it for you? 

🕑 Times: Flexible during the hours of 9:00am to 4:00pm

💍 Commitment: Get started from as little as 1-2 hours fortnightly 

📅 Days: Weekdays 

☑️ Skills and experience important for this role include: 

- Great customer service skills ability to communicate with frail aged and older people in ways which are respectful and courteous

- Good listening skills

- Good organisational skills

- Genuinely interested in being there and able to commit to a minimum of a few hours per week on a regular basis.
