📍Location: BlueCare, Woodlands Lodge Residential Aged Care Facility, 29 Melbourne Road, Arundel

👉🏼 About Us: BlueCare Woodlands Lodge at Arundel is one of BlueCare's longest running aged care facilities and is home to over 100 frail aged and elderly residents.

Every second Thursday & with the help of volunteers the Lifestyle Team cook a traditional Aussie BBQ/Sausage Sizzle. Residents look forward to Thursdays as the nostalgic aroma of onions and sausages cooking awaken the senses and bring back memories of when they may have once also worn a BBQ apron while enjoying the company of their families and friends.

We are seeking volunteers to assist the Lifestyle Team prepare and cook the Thursday BBQ and serve food and beverages to residents. Volunteers would also assist Residents with poor mobility to and from their rooms by pushing wheelchairs. Wheelchair training is provided. Food Safety training is provided No previous experience in aged care, food or hospitality is needed.  

This volunteer role will help to improve the qualify of life and emotional well-being of residents by sharing food and conversation while enjoying a traditional Aussie BBQ.

👉🏼 Skills Required: no previous experience in food, hospitality or aged care is required food safety training is provided wheelchair training is provided for those volunteers able to assist residents who have poor or limited mobility 

💍 Commitment: 3-4 hours fortnightly

🕑 Times: Between 10am and 1pm on Thursdays fortnightly or monthly

📅 Days: Weekdays
