📃 This volunteer opportunity will help to enhance the wellbeing of residents by providing valuable companionship, engaging them in one-on-one conversations, and reducing feelings of loneliness. 

As a companionship champion, you will build meaningful connections, share activities, and make a positive difference in their day by offering personalised care and support.  Through your presence and support, you will brighten someone’s day and foster genuine relationships that can have a lasting impact.

📍Location: BlueCare, Woodlands Lodge Residential Aged Care Facility, 29 Melbourne Road, Arundel

👉🏼 About Us: Woodlands Lodge is home to people who are frail aged and elderly, some experiencing dementia. It has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere including its own café located in a rotunda surrounded by lush gardens. The Diversional Therapy Team provide fun, recreational activities both at home and out and about in the community, tailored to the needs of the residents. Attending Chapel Services is particularly popular on Friday mornings and volunteers are required to assist with escorting residents from their rooms to the Chapel, serving light refreshment's, handing out hymn sheets & bibles etc. Volunteers may be required to push wheelchairs and assist with mobility concerns for those who use a wheelie walker. Wheelchair Training will be provided. The Chapel is located on-site.

▪️ Engaging residents in one-on-one conversations and providing companionship
▪️ Reducing feelings of loneliness by offering a listening ear and emotional support
▪️ Participating in shared activities that interest the resident
▪️ Helping to create a positive, caring environment through personalised interaction

💍 Commitment: 3-4 hours weekly

🕑 Times: 9am to 11.30am

📅 Days: Fridays
