📃 This volunteer role will help to bring smiles, laughter and some friendly competition to our residents

 

Do you love quiz games? We are looking for a confident and cheerful volunteer to host fun & light-hearted trivia sessions for Residents. You don't need to be a trivia expert, just someone who enjoys connecting with elderly people while keeping everyone feeling entertained and included.

 

📍Location: BlueCare | Woodlands Lodge Residential Aged Care Facility, 29 Melbourne Road, Arundel Qld 4214

 

👉🏼 About Us: Woodlands Lodge is much more than an aged care facility, for over 100 frail aged and elderly people its their home. It may not be shiny and new like some other aged care facilities but it offers a place where friendship, comfort and care come together. At Woodlands Lodge we believe the little things in life, like enjoying a friendly game of trivia, remain a personal and special experience.

 

 

✅ What you’ll be doing: 

- Host relaxed and friendly trivia and other quiz games

- Encourage residents to join in and share a few laughs

- Speak in a clear voice with a friendly manner

- Assist with serving morning tea

- Set up and tidy up of resources

 

Skills neeeded:

- Someone who enjoys chatting with older people have a clear

- Friendly speaking voice cheerful and courteous manner 

- Genuinely interested in volunteering 

- Able to commit to a minimum of a couple of hours per week ongoing

🕑 Times: Between 9:00am and 11:30am, Monday to Thursday

 

💍 Commitment: Get started from as little as 3 - 4 hours fortnightly 

 

📅 Days: Weekdays 

 

☑️ Skills and experience important for this role include: 

- Great customer service skills ability to communicate with frail aged and older people in ways which are respectful and courteous

- Good listening skills

- Good organisational skills

- Genuinely interested in being there and able to commit to a minimum of a few hours per week on a regular basis.
