Volunteers support participants attending the Respite Centre to actively take part in various social and recreational activities both in-centre and out and about in the community. Activities in-centre can include: bingo, card and board games, puzzles and other memory support games, movies, concerts, celebrating special events, lawn bowls, mini golf etc Activities out-of-centre can include: shopping excursions, dining out at cafes, clubs and restaurants, tourist attractions, parks, going for drives etc 

📍Location: Coomera Community Respite Care Centre, 8-12 Esplanade, Coomera Qld 4209

☑️ Requirements of this role include: 

  ▪️ No previous experience in Aged Care or related fields is required. 

 ▪️ Applicants should demonstrate the ability to connect with frail aged and elderly people, some who may experience dementia, in ways which are respectful and empathetic. 

  ▪️ An initial interview following application will be conducted by the Volunteer Coordinator, followed by a meet and greet on site with the Respite Care Team. 

 ▪️ A police check is essential prior to commencement.   The Volunteer Coordinator will assist applicants with this check which is free to volunteers. 

 ▪️ Uniting Care Orientation Training is mandatory prior to commencement and will be delivered by the Volunteer Coordinator either online or face-to-face.
