This volunteer opportunity will help to assist our Lifestyle & Wellbeing team in providing a high-quality Lifestyle Program. Make a meaningful difference by engaging with residents and contributing to the diversity of activities and entertainment options available.

Enthusiastic and patient volunteers enhance the lives of older persons by assisting with the Lifestyle & Wellbeing program. Many role opportunities are available, including providing group or individual activity support or entertainment as talented guests.

Avalon Aged Care is a sixty-bed residential aged care facility located in the heart of Emerald. Our Lifestyle & Wellbeing program aims to enhance the quality of life & wellbeing of residents by providing diverse experiences and support. Activities are tailored to meet the specific needs of residents, which might be physical, emotional, cognitive, social, or spiritual. Volunteers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of our Lifestyle Program.

Tasks involved include:

We welcome volunteers to share their time, skills and passions in many different ways. Tasks will vary depending on the agreed-upon role. Our program's group activities currently include crafts, bingo, games, exercise, intergenerational playgroup, happy hour, conversation club, church group, concerts/performances, outings and individual support, including social visits, beauty care and shopping support.

Would you like to assist in any of these activities, or do you have an idea for something new? Do you have a unique talent or interest you would like to share? Or would you just want to enjoy a cup of tea with residents? We appreciate any support our volunteers provide.

Volunteers are valued members of our team; we work with each person to find the most suitable days and times for them to volunteer with us. We appreciate any time given whether it is 1 hour a month, or 3 days a week or a once off event. 

Any day of the week (Morning, Afternoon, Evening) 


Time Commitment: Minimum time commitment of 1-2 hours one time
