The Hampton Visitor Information Centre (VIC) is the primary location for visitors and locals to gather tourist and service information about the High Country Hamlets region and beyond. Hampton VIC relies on a dedicated team of volunteers to provide a high level of service.
Volunteer roles and duties
As a volunteer you will assist in a wide variety of tasks. These include providing information to the public, recording visitor statistics, assisting with office procedures, keeping brochure racks stocked and the VIC neat and tidy, selling items from our small range of merchandise and helping out by utilising other skills you have acquired over the years.
Volunteers must be available for at least two shifts per month. Shifts are half a day, from 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm. Volunteers are required to attend on-going training sessions in the form of bus tours and morning teas. These occur every 3 months respectively.
As a volunteer, you will undergo on-the-job training and will be rostered with another volunteer or staff member for a period of time until you are comfortable working without assistance.
