Branch Science Nights - Grande Prairie Science Nights (2024)

The Opportunity

The APEGA Peace Region Branch is looking for enthusiastic volunteers interested in sharing their passion for engineering and geoscience in an evening of fun, hands-on activities and demonstrations for students, teachers and families. Hillside Community School located in Grande Prairie, will be hosting their Elementary Science Nights on March 14, 2024

The Impact

APEGA’s outreach events, such as Science Nights and Science Olympics are vital pieces of inspiring the next generation of professional engineers, geoscientist and for introducing students to the exciting possibilities of a career in STEM. This event is a great opportunity to foster a love of engineering and geoscience in students, promote your profession in the community, and log Professional Development Hours with APEGA.  

Time Commitment

Approximately 3-hours per event | 5:00 - 8:30pm plus 1-hour to review materials prior to the event.

Event Timeline

5:00-6:00pm - Setup

6:00 - 8:00pm - Activity Stations

8:00 - 8:30pm - Teardown and cleanup
