Investigative Committee - Investigative Committee (2025)

The Opportunity

As professionals whose decisions can have a direct impact of the safety of our world, APEGA Engineers and Geoscientists have a responsibility to act with the utmost care and professionalism. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. When a complaint is presented to the Association, APEGA’s Investigative Committee steps in to determine whether or not a member or permit-holding organization has conducted themselves in an unskilled or unprofessional manner.

Currently the Association seeks volunteers with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Structural Engineering

Electrical Engineering

The Impact

Volunteers on the Investigative Committee are experts in their fields who provide subject matter expertise to assist in the investigation of these cases and help to ensure that the discipline process is transparent, objective, impartial and fair.

Time Commitment

Three-year (renewable) term

5-10 hours per month for committee activities

5x 4-hour meetings annually

Please note: During an active investigation, the time commitment can be higher depending on the severity and complexity of the case.
