LASC - Licensure Administration Subcommittee (LASC) (2025)

The Opportunity

Acting with consistency, fairness, and the protection of the public as key priorities, APEGA’s Licensure Administration Subcommittee (LASC) is accountable for recommendations on:

  • declared non-practising licensed professionals to return to practicing status;
  • former registrants to regain registration; and
  • registrants to have registration conditions removed.

LASC members review materials submitted by applicants and summaries provided by APEGA staff.  The application reviews may include CPD reporting history, work experience for technical competency, ethical and professional behaviour, and compliance with the EGP Act.

Based on trends or concerns emerging from the applications, LASC may also make further recommendations on changes to conditions, assessment criteria, or other actions.  LASC recommendations are provided to the Practice Review Board for further consideration and approval.

The Impact

The PRB is the authority of, and accountable for the work delegated to its four subcommittees: Continuing Professional Development Subcommittee (CPDSC), Licensure Administration Subcommittee (LASC), Practice Review Subcommittee (PRSC), and the Practice Standards Subcommittee (PSSC). These subcommittees provide recommendation to PRB on Continuing Professional Development, licensure administration applications, permit holder practice reviews, and the development and maintenance of practice standards, respectively.
