Volunteer Opportunities - Application: Volunteer Engagement Assistant

Role Purpose

The People & Culture team helps to support the people related strategy and operations that enables the business in achieving its vision and mission.

The Volunteer Engagement Assistant will become a valued member of our Volunteer Engagement team.  Working closely with the Volunteer Engagement Team, you may undertake several administrative tasks that assist the recruitment and engagement of quality volunteers for RSPCA Victoria.

The contribution you make in this role will enable greater efficiency in the Burwood volunteer recruitment processes and support a positive volunteer experience.  In turn you will be supporting RSPCA's work in providing quality care to animals in our centre via our skilled and reliable volunteer team.

This role would suit volunteers who have competent administration skills and an interest in gaining experience and/or contributing to the administration of a volunteer program.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

As the Volunteer Engagement Assistant, you may be responsible for the following activities:

  • Assisting volunteer recruitment activities such as:  updating presentation content, preparing attendee lists
  • Assisting with volunteer placement tasks, such as:  entering and maintaining volunteer records on the database, sending confirmation emails, preparing name badges
  • Assisting with rostering tasks, such as:  noting apologies, actioning shift change requests and resignations and auditing volunteer attendance
  • Providing courteous, professional and timely responses to general volunteer inquiries
  • Assisting with maintaining volunteer records, both hard copy and electronic
  • Participating in support for volunteer recruitment events when available
  • Assist with other volunteer engagement related tasks including maintenance of volunteer supplies including vests and leads, assist with volunteer recognition activities

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the volunteer will possess the following necessary skills and attributes:

  • Great time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Office capabilities, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a small team
  • "Can do" attitude
