Open Space - Weed Warriors
Invasive plant species are harmful to our natural resources because they disrupt natural communities and ecological processes, especially in delicate desert environments like our Boise foothills. Weed Warriors is a program where participants work together to selectively remove invasive plant species, and thus improve the ability for native species to compete with their non-native visitors. When attending a weed-pulling event, please wear sturdy hiking shoes, be prepared for walking on uneven terrain, and pulling some weeds! Garden gloves, appropriate outerwear, and water are recommended for all field activities.
Please join us for a special edition of Weed Warriors. We need to clean up goatheads in the new Bike Skills Park in Military Reserve, prior to the official opening. Goatheads are problem for everyone - not just cyclists - so let's work together to stop the spread of this noxious weed.
