Special Events - Releaf Boise
Established in 1990, the Boise Parks & Recreation Department's Community Forestry Unit started ReLeaf Boise, a citizen volunteer effort to plant trees along city streets. ReLeaf Boise stemmed from American Forests' Global ReLeaf campaign, an international quest to improve the earth's environment through the planting of trees.
In Boise, 1000's of trees have been planted on public rights-of-way by the generous labor of volunteers. Beautifying and cooling the streets of Boise, these trees have improved our community's quality of life.
Saturday, April 25, 2020
On planting day, volunteers will need to provide their own truck or trailer to haul trees, spade shovels, rakes, water bucket, hand pruner, pick, tarp (for dirt/grass), hat, drinking water, sunscreen, and a city map. Volunteer will receive a class the morning of the event, on how to properly plant a tree. I't more than just digging a hole!
Groups are limited to 20 people.
Volunteers must review the City of Boise Volunteer Handbook to participate.
- Volunteer Handbook Review Must be Complete
- Volunteer Waiver Must be Complete
