Boise Parks

Special Events - Scoop the Poop

It's not something we like to do or even something we want to do, but is something we have to do. Dog owners regularly fail to pick up after their pets, creating quite a mess along foothills trails and in Boise parks. Dog waste is not only a health concern due to the bacteria it contains, but also contributes to some very unpleasant experiences for park and trail users. We're sure everyone can imagine some of the stories we've heard about interactions with dog waste.

As such, the Boise Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a clean up of our trails on March 11. All concerned citizens, especially dog owners, are encouraged to join in on the effort. Participants will be provided trash bags and rubber gloves, but will need to provide their own shovel or other pickup apparatus.

Volunteers must review the City of Boise Volunteer Handbook to participate.
