Job Description: City Hall Public Meeting Assistance Team 

The City Hall Public meeting Assistance Team serves as Ambassadors to our community, and doubles as the eyes and ears of the Boise Police Department during after-hours public meetings at Boise City Hall. As a benefit, you will be trained in CPR, First aid, & AED operation; educated on facility fire evacuation protocols; taught how to identify suspicious objects and coordinate response; and you will be familiarized with sweep, observation and de-escalation tactics.

Primary duties: 
• meet and greet general public/meeting attendees
• assist with accessibility
• liaise with police regarding crowd control
• assist coordinating any emergency response necessary
This is not only a great volunteer opportunity, but the valuable training and experience could be a great stepping stone for anyone interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement, security or another public safety position. The schedule is flexible, but volunteers must be reliable and commit to at least two meetings per month.

Job Description: Greenbelt Safety Team

The Boise Police Greenbelt Safety Team serves as ambassadors to Greenbelt users and visitors to Boise by providing a friendly police presence to promote safety on the Greenbelt. Volunteers ride in marked golf cart or on bicycles. Volunteers typically work one regular shift per week. Shifts run from 10am to 3pm and 3pm to 8pm in the summer and 10am to 3pm in the winter. There are typically 2 to 4 volunteers per shift. Volunteers all carry cell phones to allow communication with dispatch and each other. Applications will be accepted until November 30, 2018 with interviews held in December of 2018.
