Special Projects or Events - Green Teens

The Boise WaterShed Environmental Education Center is looking for teens to participate in an exciting summer volunteer program called Green Teens. The Green Teens will help develop and teach education programs and interactive activities for children and families who visit the Boise WaterShed.

Here are examples of some of the activities the teens will assist with on Wednesdays between June 7 and August 9, 2017:

  • Lead or assist with activities, science demonstrations and crafts inside and outside the education center.
  • Develop an educational activity to teach families about environmental stewardship.
  • Have fun with other teens as they complete a service project and enjoy a Boise River float trip.

In exchange for volunteering, teens will:

  • Earn community service hours and a letter of recommendation..
  • Learn leadership skills and professional job skills.
  • Contribute to the success of the programs at the WaterShed.

Green Teens meet every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Boise WaterShed, 11818 W. Joplin Rd. Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 18 years old and currently attending high school.

Qualifications Required

  • Boise WaterShed Orientation Must be at least Attended Orientation
  • Volunteer Handbook Review Must be Complete
  • Volunteer Waiver Must be Complete
