The Adult/55+ Services offers a wide range of opportunities for volunteers of all ages to engage adults in the community and in turn, enrich each other’s lives.
Volunteer Opportunities
Adult/55+ Recreation Activity Assistant - Working with and supported by recreation centre staff, this volunteer position facilitates Adult/55+ activities or special events. Volunteers in this position contribute greatly and meaningful to the overall health and wellness of participants and the community.
Location
- Various recreation centres in Surrey
Time Commitment
- Typically, morning or afternoon shifts, some occasional evenings, or weekends for special events. Both short-term and long-term opportunities are available.

Step #1 – Eligibility Requirements
To apply to be a volunteer in the Adult and Senior Services volunteer program, you must be:
- 14 years or older
- Eligible to volunteer in Canada (check your travel documents, if applicable)
Step #2 – Apply
- Fill in an application
- Attend an interview
- Submit two (2) references
- Complete a Police Information Check
Step #3 – Volunteer
- When all the above steps have been completed, you will be contacted by phone or email by an Adult and Senior Services program administrator.
This process can take up to 6 weeks so we thank you for your diligence and patience. Once you are eligible to volunteer, log-in to your profile at MyImpactPage.com to search and sign up for volunteer activities, confirm shifts and record your hours of service.
