Public Swim Assistant - Public Swim Assistant

Description

The Public Swim Assistant volunteers help to provide a safe and fun environment for community members during public swim sessions.   

 

Duties and Responsibilities

In the entrance of change rooms, volunteers will  

  • Greet patrons as they arrive in the pool area
  • Assist with locker usage
  • Provide patrons with information and expectations of pool etiquette including proper swim attire, showering, etc. before entering the pool area  

Under the supervision and direction of staff/lifeguards, volunteers will

  • Help with managing line-up for slides and inflatables
  • Assist to keep the pool deck cleared and organized for safety
  • Assist in organizing and tidying the lost and found storage area  

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Age 14 and over
  • Hold a Bronze Medallion certificate

Step #1 – Eligibility Requirements

 

To apply to be a volunteer in the Aquatics Service volunteer program, you must be:

  • 14 years or older
  • Eligible to volunteer in Canada (check your travel documents, if applicable)
  • Current Bronze Cross and Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification

 

 

 Step #2 – Apply

 

  • Fill in an application
  • Attend an interview
  • Submit 2 references
  • Complete a Police Information Check

 

 Step #3 – Volunteer

 

  • When all the above steps have been completed, you will be contacted by phone or email by an Aquatics Services program administrator

 


This process can take up to 6 weeks so we thank you for your diligence and patience. Once you are eligible to volunteer, log-in to your profile at MyImpactPage.com to search and sign up for volunteer activities, confirm shifts and record your hours of service.
