Our City Neighbourhood Cleanup - Learn more

Description

Do you want to make a positive impact in your community and gain volunteer hours? Join Our City as a neighbourhood cleanup volunteer! Our City Neighbourhood Cleanups will be present at select locations and times this year to clean up litter from neighbourhoods. Sign up for this volunteer opportunity and join the many others working to keep Surrey clean and beautiful.

Details:

  • Tools and training are provided.
  • The activity will run rain or shine
    • Cancellation may occur in the event of extreme weather.
  • Shift details, including where to meet and what to bring, will be emailed to you once you are assigned to the shift.

  1. Register as a Volunteer

Select "Fill in an application" on the right side of this page.

  1. Complete Training

To participate, you will need to complete an online safety training. Once you have successfully completed the training, the qualifications will be automatically added to your volunteer profile so that you are able to view and sign up for the opportunity. You are also eligible to log volunteer hours for completing the training. Instructions on how to do so will be provided once you successfully complete the training.

  1. Sign Up

To do so, select the OPPORTUNITIES tab to view and sign up for the activity.

Application Process

 

Step #1 – Eligibility Requirements

 

To apply to be a volunteer in the Our City volunteer program, you must be:

  • 14 years or older
  • Eligible to volunteer in Canada (check your travel documents, if applicable)

 

 Step #2 – Apply

 

  • Fill in an application
  • Attend an interview
  • Submit 2 references
  • Complete a Police Information Check

 

 Step #3 – Volunteer

 

  • When all the above steps have been completed, you will be contacted by phone or email by an Our City program administrator

 

This process can take up to 6 weeks so we thank you for your diligence and patience. Once you are eligible to volunteer, log-in to your profile at MyImpactPage.com to search and sign up for volunteer activities, confirm shifts and record your hours of service.
