Description
The Patron Support Assistant plays an important role to facilitate a positive experience for patrons at the Women & Girls Swim sessions. Please note that this is a Women & Girls swim only. Only female volunteers can sign up for this shift. This volunteer role will perform the following duties mostly in the facility lobby and on the pool deck.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet patrons as they arrive in the lobby
- Assist with locker usage
- Provide patrons with information and expectations of pool etiquette including proper swim attire, requirement of swim diaper for children under 7 years old, etc. before entering the pool area
Minimum Requirement
Age 14 and over
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of Arabic, Farsi, Hindi or Punjabi is a great asset
- Enjoy interacting with people
- Passionate to help others
- Safety conscious
- Customer service oriented
- Able to accept supervision and follow direction
- Self-motivated

Time Commitment
The Women & Girls Swim is an ongoing program. Volunteer shifts are scheduled on Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00pm.

Report and Support
Volunteers in this position report to and are supported by administration and/or aquatic staff.
Orientation and Training
Staff will provide a facility orientation and specific training

Step #1 – Eligibility Requirements
To apply to be a volunteer in the Aquatics volunteer program, you must be:
- 14 years or older
- Eligible to volunteer in Canada (check your travel documents, if applicable)
Step #2 – Apply
- Fill in an application
- Attend an interview
- Submit 2 references
- Complete a Police Information Check
Step #3 – Volunteer
- When all the above steps have been completed, you will be contacted by phone or email by an Aquatics Services program administrator
This process can take up to 6 weeks so we thank you for your diligence and patience. Once you are eligible to volunteer, log-in to your profile at MyImpactPage.com to search and sign up for volunteer activities, confirm shifts and record your hours of service.
