City-Wide Special Events - City-Wide Special Events Volunteer
Description
City-Wide Special Events volunteers support at the City's major events throughout the year: Party for the Planet, SPARK, Surrey Canada Day, Fusion Festival, Tree Lighting Festival. Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Activity Assistants for Community Safety, Craft Tent, Photo Booth, Sensory Friendly Space, Sport Zone, Toddler Town
- Event Assistants for Artist Hospitality and Event Set Up
- Hosts for Information Booth and Mascot Performer/handler
Location
- Party for the Planet - Surrey Civic Plaza
- SPARK - Surrey Arts Centre
- Canada Day - Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre
- Fusion Festival - Holland Park
- Tree Lighting Festival - Surrey Civic Plaza
Time Commitment
- 1 event per month
- Volunteers must volunteer at a minimum of 2 major events throughout the year
Application Process

Step #1 – Eligibility Requirements
To apply to be a volunteer in the Special Events volunteer program, you must be:
- 14 years or older
- Eligible to volunteer in Canada (check your travel documents, if applicable)
Step #2 – Apply
- Fill in an application
- Attend an interview
- Submit 2 references
- Complete a Police Information Check
Step #3 – Volunteer
- When all the above steps have been completed, you will be contacted by phone or email by a Special Events program administrator
This process can take up to 6 weeks so we thank you for your diligence and patience. Once you are eligible to volunteer, log-in to your profile at MyImpactPage.com to search and sign up for volunteer activities, confirm shifts and record your hours of service.
