Outreach - Outreach Volunteer (16 and older)

Join library staff at festivals, school and community events, and farmer’s markets. Be part of our enthusiastic, friendly outreach team, encouraging literacy with book giveaways, showcasing library services with our mobile 3D printers and button makers and fostering a love of stories by reading to preschool classes. Outreach volunteers can help transform lives beyond our library buildings by delivering library materials to homebound customers, providing meals to those in need and growing partnerships with schools and community organizations.

If you are searching for an exciting and rewarding volunteer experience and would like to be a part of our libraries and services, we encourage you to apply to volunteer with us! You will receive training to help prepare you to assist with library outreach and we will equip you with the tools for a successful volunteer experience. To be a SMCL adult programming volunteer one must be 14 years old and up.

San Mateo County Libraries are deeply committed to inclusivity and diversity. Everyone is welcome.
