The Welcome Project - Sydney

The Welcome Project - Welcome Project Administration Volunteer

About the Welcome Project

The Welcome Project aims to encourage inclusiveness and strengthen a sense of belonging by engaging local residents to act as Ambassadors and Community Support Assistants to plan, organise and conduct community activities to welcome refugees/new arrivals in various parts of Sydney.

The Welcome Project assists refugees/new arrivals to feel welcome and more connected, establish relationships and boost their self-confidence to access and participate in what Sydney can offer. It also increases the broader Sydney community’s understanding of the humanitarian program and refugee needs as well as offering a unique opportunity to engage in an intercultural experience to learn from, and about each other. Welcoming activities can include social, cultural and recreational activities across Sydney.

The Welcome Project Administration Volunteer will support the Welcome Project Community Engagement Practitioner with a range of administration and program related tasks to meet our goals of providing a responsive, proficient and supportive project.
