Disaster Preparedness and Response – City of Carlsbad

Disaster Preparedness - CERT 2018 Information Session

Thank you so very much for your interest in learning more about the Carlsbad Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). CERT volunteers provide emergency preparedness and response assistance to their neighbors. To prepare for this responsibility, those chosen for CERT 2018 academy are given 24 hours of training in fire safety, light search and rescue and more by professionals in the field.

If you are interested in applying for the CERT training program, you are required to attend the CERT orientation. Participants for the upcoming training session will be chosen from those attending the orientation.

CERT orientation will occur in early January 2018. An email will be sent out in early December 2017 with the date, time and location of the orientation.

This training is open to Carlsbad residents 18 years of age or older. A background check and medical waiver are required by those chosen for the training.

Thank you so much for your interest,

David Harrison, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator

Marie Jones-Kirk, Community Services Manager
