Internships - Occupational (Environmental) Health & Safety Intern
Importance of Position:
Position is important for extending hands-on education opportunities to volunteers for their University’s occupational health and safety program.
Skills, qualifications or requirements for assignment:
Admittance in a university-level occupational health and safety program
Knowledge of Cal/OSHA and Fed/OSHA laws and regulations
Knowledge of basic industrial hygiene
PPE: hard hat, steel-toed boots, eye protection
Duties and Responsibilities (List specific tasks to be done by the volunteer):
Assists with PowerPoint and training development
Setup and delivery of basic training topics
Scanning and filing training information
Assists with indoor air quality testing, sound level testing, respirator fit testing, and inspections
Training Provided:
Training to assist with scanning and filing training information, and with indoor air quality testing, sound level testing, respirator fit testing
Person supervising volunteer:
EH&S Specialist and/or EH&S Officer
