Fair Trade Oxfam Group - Fair Trade Shop Volunteer
PLEASE NOTE: This volunteer position is open all year. We are specifically recruiting now and request a minimum of 3 months commitment.
Oxfam is committed to preventing any type of unwanted behavior at work including sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, lack of integrity and financial misconduct; and committed to promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. Oxfam expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment through our code of conduct. We place a high priority on ensuring that only those who share and demonstrate our values are recruited to work for us.
Formed in June 2007, the Oxfam Group Fair Trade Shop WA is committed to supporting Fair Trade and Oxfam Australia through voluntary work. The focus of the shop and group is the promotion of Fair Trade products and information to the wider community, whilst also raising funds for Oxfam Australia. Group members also attend community events, and in doing so sell Fair Trade products and raise awareness. There are also a range of items which support sustainability, such as Bush skincare products and foods which are enjoyed by our customers.
The Fair Trade Shop is always looking for more volunteers motivated to assist with promoting fair trade and selling fair trade merchandise in our retail shop and/or at community events. The position has scope to move into buying, shop management, public presentations on fair trade and other positions in this entirely volunteer run activity.
The Shop has recently reopened its doors after closing temporarily due to COVID-19. The Shop has completed a COVID Safety Plan to ensure the safety of its volunteers and customers.
