Mesa United Way is supporting the “Read On Mesa” initiative sponsored by the City of Mesa Mayor’s Office. Through this partnership the 12 Books Program has been created with the goal of providing at-risk kindergarten students in Mesa with 12 books of their own to encourage and spark a life-long love of reading while reducing summer learning loss.

Looking for a group service project?

Read On Mesa and Mesa United Way are looking for volunteer groups to inspect, sort, clean, and box books for the 12 Books Program.  

Volunteer Project Details:

• Suggested group size is 10 to 30
• The event is held indoors and is hosted by Mesa United Way
• Refreshments and snacks will be provided
• Time needed for the event is 4 hours
• Materials needed to clean and box books will be provided
