Mesa Family Advocacy Center/ Criminal Investigations Division - Mesa Family Advocacy Center Assistant (Emphasis on Child Care)
PURPOSE: To assist staff with administrative, interpersonal and childcare skills
DESCRIPTION: Duties will include supporting the Victim Assistance Volunteer Coordinator with administrative tasks; researching agenda issues; composing, summarizing, editing, and disseminating information; maintaining work and training schedules for Victim Assistance volunteers;, interacting with citizens, management, and sworn/civilian staff on a variety of complex and sensitive issues related to crime victims; and assisting with the caring for children and families brought to the Center who are victims.
QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of training, education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or a G.E.D.; must be able to climb stairs; must be able to pick up small children up to 30 pounds; must be able to work with diverse population; must possess a valid driver's license.
DESIRED SKILLS: Experience working with law enforcement or the judicial system; bilingual in Spanish is preferred; experience operating basic office equipment, including a personal computer; ability to maintain strict confidentiality, attention to detail and tact.
TRAINING: On the job training
TIME COMMITMENT: Flexible hours -- you may choose any time between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
