Social Service - Grief Support Team
The Mesa Fire and Medical Department Grief Support Team provides initial grief support and community resources to families who are dealing with a stressful situation.
Working in teams of two, the Grief Support Team provides on-call assistance, seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. in the City of Mesa.
These services include providing emotional support to families and friends, assisting in the death notification process, and assist in the choice of necessary services.
Supporting the Community:
The Mesa Fire and Medical Department Grief Support Team (GST) is staffed by local volunteers who are interested in providing assistance and emotional support to customers during a highly emotional time, particularly the loss of a loved one.
GST provides on-call assistance, seven days a week throughout the City of Mesa.
GST volunteers provide emotional support to grieving families and friends, assist in the death notification process, and assist in the choice of necessary services.
Requirements:

• Attend interview
• Pass background check

- DMV record
- Proof of car insurance
• Attend training
• Shadow other GST members
• Be available 2x/month
• Attend monthly training
• Commit for one year
