Mesa United Way is supporting the “Read On Mesa” initiative sponsored by the City of Mesa Mayor’s Office. Through this partnership the 12 Books Program has been created with the goal of providing at-risk kindergarten students in Mesa with 12 books of their own to encourage and spark a life-long love of reading while reducing summer learning loss.

Looking for a group service project?

Read On Mesa and Mesa United Way are looking for volunteer groups to hold donation drives to help purchase or gather new/like new age appropriate books for children ages 5-8. These books will then be provided to kindergarten/first grade students in Mesa to take home at the end of the school year. Our goal this year is to collect ~8000 books by April. . We need the communities help. Project deadline: April 1st, 2015.

There are many ways you can help 12 Books;
