Mesa Family Advocacy Center/ Criminal Investigations Division - Office Assistant
PURPOSE:
To provide clerical support to or fill in for office staff.
DESCRIPTION:
Volunteer will perform clerical tasks and use basic office equipment, such as a PC, telephone, Xerox machine, and/or fax machine. Volunteer may assist the general public in person and/or via telephone. Volunteer may communicate with other law enforcement agencies, government agencies, or businesses. Volunteer’s specific duties will depend upon the unit assigned, which may include Headquarters, Criminal Investigations, patrol substations, Hiring, and other areas as needed. Other related duties will be requested as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to deal with the public professionally and effectively. Ability to operate basic office equipment. Patience and a desire to be helpful. Professional telephone demeanor. Typing, filing and data entry skills may be required, depending upon assignment. May require TOC certification, depending upon assignment.
TRAINING
The volunteer will receive on-the-job training.
TIME COMMITMENT:
Eight (8) hours per month minimum; four (4) hours per week desirable. Hours will vary as needed by assignment.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Will vary according to assignment.
