ARTISTIC WORK/CRAFTING - Fabric Sorter
JOB DESCRIPTION |
Volunteers who love working with fabrics and other haberdashery items (buttons!) are welcome to join in the fun of sorting donated fabric pieces and scraps for our 'Swap Shop'. |
SKILLS REQUIRED |
No previous experience needed, though anyone with any kind of sorting, display experience (working in an op shop for example) or knowledge of textiles would find their skills put to good use. Anyone with a willingness to learn about different textiles, attention to detail, patience and a positive attitude is very welcome. |
LOCATION |
Stitch Kitchen is at 88 Vogel Street, on the corner of Jetty Street (beside the urban recycling station). |
DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED |
Any time you have available on Thursday or Friday afternoons, between 12-3, from half and hour to the full 3 hours, monthly, fortnightly or weekly, would be greatly appreciated. |
DRESS CODE |
Comfortable clothes which you can move in, and preferably don't hold much static. |
SUPERVISION AND TRAINING |
Full health and safety training provided along with training in how each task can be done, with flexibility to adapt to your abilities and ideas. |
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS |
Volunteers will be interview. No references are required for this role, but we are happy to provide a reference for those who volunteer with us on a regular basis for more than 1 month |
