JOB DESCRIPTION

Fair Trade Advocacy Officers will assist the Fair Trade Association to promote Fair Trade and Ethical purchasing to communities in the Otago region. Duties include

• Implement the Fair Trade Communities program in NZ
• Strengthen fair trade stakeholder relationships
• Co-ordinate and facilitate fair trade activities and

provide information to fair trade supporters and network groups

• Assist with New Zealand membership management processes
• Other duties including administrative support as required

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Demonstrated ability to work creatively and collaboratively both independently and as a member of a team, using a high degree of initiative
• Effective presentation skills and interpersonal skills
• Effective self-management skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and work in a virtual team environment
• Competence in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice and/or sustainability issues

LOCATION

Virtual- position ideal for people comfortable with virtual volunteering.

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

Monday to Wednesday, mornings and afternoons

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

Initial induction training followed by regular supervision and support sessions.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Volunteers are required to undergo police vetting

All expenses and travel costs undertaken as part of work on this role is reimbursed.
