TEACHING/TUTORING/ASSISTING - Computer Tutor

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

A volunteer is needed to

  • Teach technology to older adults in a friendly, fun and stress free way

  • To help with the regular drop-in sessions where members can come with problems they need help with. This is usually one-to-one

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • An understanding of computers, tablets or iPads

  • Ability to teach or assist small groups of over 50’s in a clear and concise manner

  • An awareness of the different levels of learning abilities of club members

LOCATION

189 Main South Road, Green Island

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

Monday to Fridays at various times.  A timetable is prepared each month for the following month classes.

DRESS CODE

Casual

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

Initial supervision as a helper at classes.  Once volunteer is confident, they can work as a tutor with support

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

All potential volunteers are interviewed.

Volunteers are given  reimbursed$3 for each session and $3 for preparing course notes
