VISITOR/COMPANION - Visiting Volunteers

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

To visit an older person in their home on a weekly basis for about an hour . The focus is to provide conversation and companionship. The volunteer can also elect (but is not compulsory), to assist the person with a hobby/interest, take them out for drives, to do shopping or messages or go out for a cuppa etc.

Mosgiel

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

Days and times to visit are negotiated with the older person but are generally late morning or afternoon

DRESS CODE

Tidy casual clothes

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

Orientation and training and ongoing support

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

All volunteers will be interviewed

All volunteers will undergo police vetting

All volunteers will need two referees

We can contribute to a mileage cost when taking a client out from their home
