JOB DESCRIPTION |
Interested in steam engines? This role is to support the boiler operator when we are steaming. The main objective is for additional safety but if you wanted to learn more about boilers and steam engines this would be an ideal opportunity and training would be available if you wanted to be able to be an operator. If you have study to do or other tasks we have free wifi, and only would ask to safety check every so often and help if needed, so ideal for students who want to clock up some work experience. |
SKILLS REQUIRED |
Common sense, good communication and good health. |
LOCATION |
Dunedin Gasworks Museum, 20 Braemar Street, South Dunedin |
DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED |
Usually Sundays, once a month would be the normal frequency. Some times there will be special events. |
DRESS CODE |
Comfortable clothing that is not too good (as may get dirty), dress for cooler temperatures early but will be warmer once things are working. Sturdy footwear. |
SUPERVISION AND TRAINING |
Training about boiler operation/maintenance and steam engine operation/maintenance is optional. |
