JOB DESCRIPTION

To visit a resident and provide companionship and trust.

To meet residents needs as a diversion to their circumstance by reading and/or walking and/or playing board games

To visit weekly or fortnightly as decided between yourself and resident and volunteer coordinator.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Good communication is essential

To be punctual and reliable

To have a good sense of humour

To be honest and empathetic

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

Best times to visit between 10.30am - 12.00 and 1.30 - 5.00pm

Start date on completion of referee checks

End date to be determined by volunteer

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Volunteers will be interviewed and will be required to provided 2 referees who are over 21, not related and have known the volunteer for over 1 year. There will be forms provided that will need to be completed. A Go Card is available if requested for travel costs.
